All good except for the outsole.

Great shoes as far as comfort and looks. I liked everything about them except one thing. The outsole was done after a month. I hike/run a trail that has a lot of rocky areas 3 to 4 times a week. It’s a trail that goes up a couple thousand feet. The outsole was worn nearly smooth after one month. Gonna go with the vibrant outsole ones when I wear out my latest hiking shoes and see how they hold up.

Good, but fits small. Go half size up

Recent ACG Zegama, Zegama Hike & Pegasus have a roomy toebox. Fab. These don't. Wrecks an otherwise great shoe.

I ALWAYS come back to these

As someone who hikes often, I always find myself coming back to the Pegasus Trail runners. Personally, I believe these are one of the best shoes you can get because you get comfortable, lightweight, and rugged sneakers (THAT DONT MAKE YOU LOOK LIKE A GRANDPA… sorry grandpa). These have really been put through the test and have proved themselves. These have been my main shoes for hiking in more rugged conditions but I find myself leaving these home on more easy and hot hikes (due to GORE TEX). Since these are waterproof they will keep moisture out of your shoe but trap the moisture from sweat in your shoes. That’s why I always suggest having 2 different types of hiking shoes. Some that vent well, and some that’ll keep your feet dry from the rain or small water crossings. I have found that these don’t last very long due to frequent use (they begin to separate at the midsole to the uppers). With that said I still find myself coming back to these each time because of how good they are.

Like walking on grippy clouds

I mean, come on…These shoes are wildly comfortable! Although they are a bit chunky looking, the Acg Pegasus Trail Gtx shoes have amazing support, the foot bed makes it feel like you are running on a cloud, and they feel snug but lightweight. They fit as expected for my size, and just feel great. The thickness of the shoe does give it a sturdy and well-built feeling like you know that the shoe will last and that they can take a beating off-road. I particularly like the sock like elastic backing that stops small stones or dust from getting kicked up into the back of the shoe. The elasticity of the back sock portion with the double sized pull tab to get on the shoe are really nice and convenient features that I haven’t had in another shoe, and I am into them I a strong way. The treads are also fantastically grippy; I feel like I could run up a boulder sideways like Spider-Man. Not crazy about the black on black design, but I suppose there are people who are into that look and also design-wise, the heal feels a bit too thick looking, but it does perform well. But regardless of what they look like, I will wear these again and again; from trail running to hikes, these shoes feel like they are versatile enough to go from the forest to rocky terrain, and even on a water hike. My foot felt like it was pushed toward the front of the shoe, it felt somewhat back heavy, but not necessarily in a bad way.

A trail running shoe that checks all the boxes

Mountain Runner - 2026-08-05

Living in the Montana mountains, trail running and hiking are integral parts of my life. I’m always on the lookout for the most comfortable and durable all-around mountain recreation shoe. The Nike Acg Pegasus Trail sneaker strikes a great balance between comfort and stability. The shoe is designed with extra cushioning, which is evident when running on the rocky mountain terrain. While some cushioned sneakers can compromise stability, I found that these shoes maintained a good balance. I put them to the test over the weekend with a 10-mile hike and they performed exceptionally well. Even during a hail and rain storm that turned the trail into a muddy, slippery mess, the shoes felt stable and responsive with good traction. However, they did get a bit wet, so they’re not entirely waterproof. I particularly love the wider toe box in these sneakers, especially when running downhill. It prevents my toes from getting jammed against the front of the shoe, which is a significant improvement over my previous running sneaker. If you’re in search of a reliable trail running or hiking shoe, these shoes are a great choice.

Awesome trail running shoes

My biggest issue that I encounter with trail running shoes is you either get grip or comfort. Can never choose to have both. But this shoe is where things change and elevate. Gently broke these in with casual runs around the neighborhood leading up to my big run. These shoes performed amazing during the harsh terrain running the Spartan Super. Obstacle after obstacle, uphill, downhill, even when wet these shoes continued to impress me. They never let me down and I plan to continue running in them. I’m not sure why it took me so long to give these a try but I don’t plan to look back after a couple amazing weeks with them

Love these! Great running shoe for all weather conditions, feels like it can handle road miles and any type of weather condition, waterproof keeps feet dry and surprisingly very lightweight and flexible for a trail runner

Pegasus Runner - 2026-07-31

As a longtime Pegasus fan, I couldn't wait to try the ACG GTX trail version — and it did not disappoint! These shoes have become a fantastic addition to my collection, perfect for trail days when there's a good chance of splashing through a stream or two. The Gore-Tex lining keeps my feet dry and comfortable while still letting them breathe, so I can already tell these will be my go-to pick once winter brings wetter conditions. The traction on the soles is super grippy, handling sandy and leafy sections of trail with ease. I also love the gaiter around the ankle, which does a great job keeping rocks and debris out. One small note: these run slightly smaller than the traditional Pegasus, likely due to the Gore-Tex lining, so I'd recommend sizing up. That said, it's a minor tradeoff for a shoe this reliable — if you're looking for a trail companion that can handle wet, messy conditions without missing a beat, the ACG GTX is well worth adding to your rotation.

Not my favorite

The fit of this shoe is very average. I would neither consider these comfortable nor uncomfortable. Walking around and running errands is just fine, but I expected more comfort than that of a casual shoe. I wouldn’t recommend exercising in these shoes despite giving an exercise-friendly vibe. I really did not like the ankle support on this shoe. I found the extra material around the ankle to be irritating and quite frankly, kind of goofy. I’m sure there are practical uses for something like this, but the extra material around the ankle alone drove me away from this shoe. I wouldn’t wear them casually in public or try to style them with any outfits I would wear out in public. Aside from the ankle material, the shoe is average. I could go either way with these. They look like hundreds of other Nike shoe designs and don’t seem to be anything special. The quality of the materials of the shoe is fine. The sole and midsole seem to be a sturdy material, however the upper part of the shoe has a weird material that I don’t commonly see on shoes. It’s kind of light and rubbery, which likely enhances the athletic performance of the athlete wearing the shoes. It looks pretty good and is lightweight. Overall, the shoes are just okay. It’s a fine shoe, but one I likely won’t wear often due to the odd ankle material. If not for this one detail, I would maybe wear them out occasionally. I wouldn’t necessarily change anything else about the shoe, it’s fine and great for some.

My husband wore these to hike around and go fishing. These shoes are snug but not tight. The back rim part of the shoes is an elastic material so it didn't hurt. These fit ture to size, if you have wide feet it's probably going to feel tight. The insoles feels nice and cushioned so it was comfortable walking around. It's suppose to be waterproof but he hasn't tested that yet. Overall these shoes will now be the go to shoes for hiking and fishing.
